Laura and Caitlin compliment each other’s parenting, with a special mention to Laura’s husband, Tim for being an awesome temporary dad to Caitlin’s son. We talk toddler falls, teething, sleeping, nap transitions and Caitlin talks about the difficulties of having a partner who works long hours.
Caitlin talks about solo parenting when you have a late-working spouse and relates how good her toddler with his ring bearer duties. Laura’s usually great sleeper had a weird night, transitioning from two naps to one, and hormonal stuff around stopping breastfeeding that surprised her.
So you’ve done all the hard work: you’ve read a book, made a plan, and executed a sleep training program. Bedtime routine is relaxing and fun. He’s going to bed at the same time every night. He’s sleeping through the night consistently! You feel like you have your life back!
Laura is away for the week so today Caitlin talks to guest co-host Toni about fast beauty for moms (or anyone, really) who are tired, running after littles, or just in need of quick tips for putting themselves together in the morning. Enjoy! (We apologize for the banging about in the audio, the babies really wanted our attention today!)
We answer a listener question about sleep training and talk about the method we use, what our experience was, other sleep training methods, and general sleep training thoughts. As usual, we talk about our #igotthis and #idontgotthis moments of the week, which are starting to revolve around the fact that we now have TODDLERS.
Disclaimer: We are not doctors or experts. We are moms who had a positive experience with sleep training. Please consult with your pediatrician about the specific needs of your child before beginning any sleep training program.
Sleep! A much discussed topic among moms and people talking to moms. One of the most common questions I am asked when strangers find out that I have a baby is, “Does he sleep through the night?” The insanity caused from bad or lack of sleep is unlike anything I have experienced before or since. Parents seem to be memorably scarred by those early weeks and months when they walked through life in a half-awake daze. So much so that people with grown kids still immediately think of the sleep question when they think about babies.
In this post, we will cover the basics of preparing to sleep train, including the specific book we recommend.
**In this episode we mention a potential website redesign. Through the magic of time travel (and recording episodes ahead of time), here is the updated website! Enjoy!
Laura talks about feeding issues she’s having with Charlie and how much to correct bad behavior. Caitlin gets her segments confused and talks about feeling productive. Charlie learns a new trick in an #igotthis while David is still sippy cup-challenged in and #idontgotthis.
